In addition, it reviewed types of international journals, quality measurement indicators, and information on the indexing of global databases.

The discussions also touched upon the indicators for evaluating a researcher’s productivity and how to utilize them to achieve a genuine addition to science and knowledge, ensuring support for the scientific promotion paths of faculty members and elevating the college’s status.

Strategic Recommendations for Advancing Scientific Research

The symposium concluded with a set of important practical recommendations aimed at overcoming the obstacles facing the progress of scientific research in Iraqi universities, most notably:

• Strategic Approach and Collaboration: Adopting a rigorous scientific approach to ensure the robustness of results, enhancing frameworks for joint cooperation between universities and research institutions, and forming integrated research teams.

• Registration in Global Repositories: Urging colleges and researchers to subscribe and document their accounts in prestigious global repositories such as (Scopus).

• Highlighting Scientific Output: Enhancing the visibility and presence of scientific research by adopting Open Access publishing methods, utilizing academic social networks, and creating Graphical Abstracts.

• Digital and Societal Reach: Interacting with scientific communities through global platforms (such as the X platform), using clear titles rich in keywords, in addition to drafting summaries in simplified language to enhance interaction and disseminate knowledge outside traditional academic circles.

• Financial and Logistical Support: Emphasizing the importance of providing all necessary financial supplies and infrastructure for the completion and publication of qualitative scientific research.

This symposium comes as part of Al-Warkaa University College’s continuous efforts to develop its academic environment and motivate its educational cadres to provide research outputs that keep pace with global developments and serve the requirements of society.
