Deanship of the College

At Al-Warka University College, we aspire for our college to become a beacon of higher education and scientific research in southern Iraq, particularly in the smiling gateway of Iraq, the city of Basra. The college is open to cooperation with reputable scientific institutions within Iraq as well as at the regional and international levels, including universities and research centers.

The college aims to provide a suitable environment for preparing students in various scientific and humanities disciplines by offering modern teaching and research facilities. These include well-equipped classrooms and laboratories, in addition to extracurricular activity facilities such as sports fields, a recreational club, and green gardens.

Within our college, students can pursue medical specializations represented by the departments of Pharmacy, Dentistry, Medical Laboratory Technologies, Anesthesia Technologies, Pathological Analysis Sciences, and Medical Physics, in addition to engineering disciplines in Electrical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering and its Economics, and Interior Design Technologies.

Our college is connected through twinning agreements with Iraqi public universities covering various specializations offered by the college. These agreements ensure the exchange of academic staff and provide training and qualification opportunities for students. The college also seeks to establish partnerships with a number of international universities to provide better training opportunities for our students and faculty members.

In line with the vision and direction of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the college aims to attract Arab and international students to study under the “Study in Iraq” initiative and is prepared to offer the best possible services.

Our college encourages scientific research in specialized fields that contribute to the advancement of society. A number of faculty members have published their research in peer-reviewed scientific journals indexed in global databases such as Scopus and Clarivate, which contributes to improving the college’s position in international academic rankings.
