As part of its continuous efforts to enhance the quality of technical and engineering education and to expand avenues of cooperation with well-established academic institutions, Al-Warqaa University College has signed a comprehensive academic cooperation and twinning agreement with the Basrah Engineering Technical College (affiliated with the Southern Technical University), aiming to open new pathways for scientific and research integration.

Al-Warqaa University College was represented at the signing ceremony by the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Nader Abdul Salman, while the Basrah Engineering Technical College was represented by its Dean, Asst. Prof. Dr. Nawras Jameel Jassim. The agreement was signed during an official ceremony held at the premises of the Engineering Technical College in Basrah.

Twinning of Scientific Departments and Joint Development

The agreement includes, among its core provisions, activating the academic twinning of the Department of Electrical Engineering Technologies, with a focus on several strategic areas, including:

• Curriculum Development: Joint efforts to update educational programs in line with global advancements in engineering sciences.
• Scientific Research and Publication:  reputable international indexed journals.
• Quality Assurance and Accreditation: Exchange of expertise in quality standards to ensure educational outcomes that meet labor market needs.
• Joint Examinations: The possibility of conducting rigorous joint examinations to enhance the academic level of students in both institutions.

Prof. Dr. Nader Abdul Salman, Dean of Al-Warqaa University College, emphasized that this agreement represents a pivotal step in the college’s journey toward academic leadership, noting that cooperation with the Engineering Technical College in Basrah will provide an advanced educational environment that contributes to preparing technically and scientifically competent engineers.

In turn, Asst. Signing Ceremony

The ceremony was attended by assistant deans from both sides, along with a distinguished group of department heads and academics. Discussions were held on mechanisms for the immediate implementation of the agreement’s provisions and the initiation of joint practical training programs.
