Under the Patronage and Presence of the Dean... The English Department at Al-Warkaa College Organizes a Workshop on the "Pros and Cons of the Internet"
As part of its continuous efforts to enhance scientific and cultural activities and raise the level of academic awareness, the English Language Department at Al-Warkaa University College organized a valuable educational workshop entitled “Pros and Cons of the Internet.”
The workshop was presented by Dr. Haider Abdul-Zahra, a Grammar instructor in the English Language Department, where he provided a comprehensive analysis of the internet’s impacts on the individual, society, and the educational process. During his lecture, Dr. Abdul-Zahra reviewed the most prominent benefits and advantages offered by modern technology in facilitating scientific research, developing communication skills, and keeping pace with cognitive development. At the same time, he warned of the negatives and risks that may result from the incorrect or excessive use of the internet and its effects on academic achievement and mental health.
The workshop received great attention, witnessing the attendance of the Dean of Al-Warkaa University College, Dr. Nader Salman, who was keen to be present and participate in this distinguished scientific activity.
At the conclusion of the workshop, the Dean praised the scientific and objective level of the lecture’s presentation. He extended his highest thanks and appreciation to Dr. Haider Abdul-Zahra for his efforts in preparing and presenting this workshop, emphasizing the importance of scientific departments continuing to organize such events that contribute to building the student’s personality and broadening their cultural and scientific horizon
