As part of its strategy aimed at opening up to prestigious educational institutions, strengthening the bonds of academic cooperation, and exchanging scientific expertise, a delegation from Warka University College, headed by the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Mahmoud Salem Thamer, paid an official visit to the College of Oil and Gas Engineering to discuss ways of joint cooperation and conclude a comprehensive scientific twinning agreement between the two sides.

Strategic Axes for Developing the Educational Process

The meeting between the leaderships of the two colleges witnessed an extensive discussion session that addressed several vital axes for developing the educational and research process. The discussions focused on mechanisms for exchanging academic expertise and the possibility of implementing joint scientific programs and projects. The two sides also discussed ways of cooperation in organizing mutual conferences, seminars, workshops, and training courses, which would elevate the scientific and cognitive level of both students and teaching staff.

Shared Visions Towards Academic Integration

During the meeting, the Dean of Warka University College, Professor Dr. Mahmoud Salem Thamer, expressed his great aspiration to establish an active and fruitful partnership with the College of Oil and Gas Engineering. He emphasized that this step serves common scientific goals and strongly contributes to supporting the course of education and scientific research, as well as developing students’ skills.

For his part, the Dean of the College of Oil and Gas Engineering, Assistant Professor Dr. Abbas Abdul-Amir Jassim, welcomed the Warka College delegation, stressing the importance of building bridges of cooperation with reputable universities and colleges. He pointed out that this cooperation enhances the quality of higher education outputs and keeps pace with modern scientific developments, considering twinning agreements a fundamental pillar towards achieving academic integration.

At the conclusion of the fruitful meeting, the two sides agreed to move forward in taking the necessary administrative and legal procedures to activate all aspects of joint cooperation. This will be officially documented within the framework of an academic twinning agreement that ensures the achievement of mutual scientific interests and consolidates the position of the two academic institutions in the Iraqi scientific arena
